Safety Information:
1. Winches are not designed nor intended for lifting or suspending loads and MUST not be used for such purposes.
2. Come Up winches are rated for intermittent-periodic duty, do not operate continuously otherwise the unit may overheat.
3. Should your winch "Stall" under load, immediatly discontinue winching operations as operating in this condition may cause the winch to overheat.
4. The winch is not to be used to lift, support or otherwise transport personnel.
3. A minimum of five (5) wraps of rope around the drum are necessary to support the
rated load.
4. When choosing the right winch, you need to consider the vehicle size and weight.
As a general guide, you need a winch with a maximum load rating of at least one to
one and a half times greater than the gross vehicle weight.
5. The rated line pull of the winch must be powerful enough to overcome the added
resistance caused by whatever the vehicle is stuck in.
6. Don’t use your winch if the cable, hook or any of the accessories (such as snatch blocks and slings) are damaged. Discard and replace immediatley.
7. Don’t use unsuitable hook and pulley block for rope. and ensure that cables, hooks and related accessories are load rated in excess of the specifications of your winch. If in doubt, DO NOT USE.
8. In some case the winch operator is required to have qualifications according to applicable laws and ordinances, please check with your local authority before using your winch.
9. Do not exceed maximum line pull ratings shown the winch specifications
10. Shock load must not exceed these ratings.
11. Keep hands clear of wire rope and fairlead opening.
12. Use leather gloves or a heavy rag when handling the wire rope.
13. When winching a heavy loads lay a heavy blanket or jacket over the wire rope near the hook, should the cable break the blanket will help absorb the recoil in the cable.
14. Keep yourself and others well clear of winch cables under tension
